It's a sign of the times and a new spin on advertising that's turning heads in Macon. You may have seen people twisting and throwing ads all over the city for a new company, AArrow Advertising. Quintavis Edwards, a 15-year-old spinner for the Macon franchise, knows his stuff.
"I love what I do," he said, "I like to see the thrill on people's face." He says he likes to show off his tricks for children riding in cars. He's one of about 15 you may have seen tossing and twirling signs throughout Macon. Most range in age from 15- to 18-years-old.
Owner Troy Tarpley says he first got the idea from an event in Atlanta."Two years ago, they were spinning for the BET Awards, and we walked by and watched one of the spinners spin for about ten minutes, and he was spinning for Snoop Dogg, so that was really interesting," said Tarpley.
Later, he read an article about the company in a magazine and decided to look into bringing the concept to Macon. The spinners meet about four times a week to practice their moves in Central City Park before hitting the streets. They also hold practices in Byron as well, but for now, the group only spins in Macon.
